Subtle beauty is an appropriate way to describe this Composite Blade Kershaw Leek. Kershaw has gone and covered both the blade and handle completely in a Blackwash finish, so you will not be able to see any scratches on this knife at all! The wavy braze line permanently joins a razor-sharp D2 cutting edge to a Sandvik 14C28N spine. With a Composite Blade and BlackWash, this is the Leek that has it all.
On the edge is a high-carbon, high-chromium D2 steel capable of taking and holding an incredible edge. On the spine is high-performance Sandvik 14C28N. The Kershaw Leek is a slim and compact pocket knife with an assisted opening, designed by Ken Onion.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Composite Blade Leek is…well, the Composite Blade. The wavy copper line along Kershaw’s Leek Composite Blade is the brazing that permanently joins a razor-sharp, durable D2 cutting edge to a Sandvik 14C28N spine.
On the edge is a high-carbon, high-chromium D2 steel. It capable of taking and holding an edge and the Sandvik 14C28N stainless-steel spine offers great strength, and corrosion resistance. On the spine is high-performance Sandvik 14C28N. With a Composite Blade, each type of steel allowed to do what it does best. The Composite Blade Leek shares its 3-inch blade, slim, easy-to-carry design, and versatility with other Leeks.
The modified drop-point blade shape makes it a good slicing knife. And the slim tip gives it excellent piercing and detail work capabilities. This Leek readily accessible with SpeedSafe assisted opening, providing quick and easy one-handed blade deployment.

What can be said about the Leek that hasn’t already been said? It’s probably Ken Onion’s most famous production knife design, which, considering the amount of work Onion has done with Kershaw and others, is really saying something. But, in the years since its original release, as the everyday carry knife category grew and grew, there may be some newer members of the knife community who got into the hobby after the Leek’s heyday. The Scallion features a high-carbon stainless steel blade with good edge retention and excellent corrosion resistance. With SpeedSafe, you can open the blade one-handed. Just pull back on the ambidextrous blade protrusion or push on the thumb stud and the blade moves out of the handle, ready for use. The Scallion’s handle scales are anodized aluminum over steel liners. Anodizing not only enables the aluminum to take a scratch resistant color, but it actually strengthens the aluminum. The Scallion’s handle is strong, lightweight, and ergonomic.
For safety, it has a locking liner to keep it locked safely open and a Tip-Lock to keep it locked safely closed during transport. If you’d like to see a little tactical folder in your pocket, the black Scallion just may be your knife.

Use it with the tool’s hex key wrench or phillips screwdriver (depending on your hardware configuration) to tighten the bolts into place. The Kickflip comes in two pieces, held together by magnets, enabling a skateboarder to use both halves of the tool simultaneously to effectively tighten the truck bolts. “You tighten the bolts quite often,” says Chris. “You have to keep your trucks secure.
