Like the other knives inspired by the original Zero Tolerance 0777, the Bareknuckle, model 7777OLBW, is based on the style of their original award-winning design, but this one offers a slimmed-down profile and upgraded materials. And it’s a built-in-the-USA beauty.
The blade is Sandvik 14C28N, a blade steel that was originally created through a Kershaw–Sandvik partnership to produce this high-performance steel. Increased nitrogen in the formula enables 14C28N to provide excellent corrosion resistance and the ability to be hardened to 58–60 Rockwell. Sandvik calls 14C28N the overall highest performing knife steel in the world that still maintains the productivity benefit of being fine-blankable. The 7777OLBW’s blade has Kershaw’s BlackWash finish for additional blade protection and to help hide use scratches.
The Bareknuckle comes with handsome, anodized-aluminum handles in olive. And like the popular Knockout, the Bareknuckle features Kershaw’s patented Sub-Frame Lock to lighten in-pocket weight and to ensure safe blade lock up while in use. Like all Blurs, the 1670BLKMAG is equipped with a big, slightly recurved blade that’s ideal for multitasking. The blade shape offers both excellent slicing and piercing capabilities. This Blur comes with a high-quality CPM-MagnaCut blade that is attractive as it is functional.
The handle is built of durable 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, which is sometimes described as “aircraft aluminum” since it is a common material used for aircraft fittings. It’s lightweight, extremely durable, and anodizes well so Kershaw can create colored handles that are scratch-resistant and extra tough. Trac-Tec grip-tape inserts provide an extra-secure grip. The Blur’s inset liner lock ensures secure blade lock up during use.
For easy one-handed opening, the Blur is equipped with SpeedSafe assisted opening. A short push on the thumb stud overcomes the resistance built into the torsion bar in the SpeedSafe mechanism. Then SpeedSafe takes over and the blade moves out of the handle quickly and easily. The pocket clip is reversible for your choice of tip-up or tip-down carry. There’s even a pre-drilled lanyard hole.

The Bracket is an XL version of the original Static cleaver. But rather than a simple size change, it has some fresh additions as well. A new glass-filled nylon front handle scale is plenty grippy, and its steel pivot overlay adds visual interest. Functionally, the Bracket opens easily with Kershaw’s assisted opening. A large choil allows users to enhance their grip. The deep-carry pocketclip is reversible for right or left carry, and the handle also includes a new lanyard hole. Even with its changes, the knife weight is just as balanced the Static. Yet, the Bracket does something different, while remaining a practical and fun cleaver for the collection.
