Cold Steel
Martial Artists have known a simple truth for ages. If your ultimate goal is to wield a sharp blade safely and effectively, you need to supplement your training with a tool that approximates the size, feel and heft of a blade, yet minimizes the possibility of causing grievous, permanent injury to yourself or your training partner. This concept was implemented by many cultures, including the ancient Romans, who used wooden swords to train their Gladiators. The only problem was that wooden training tools can rot, crack, chip or splinter and could not be used in all weather conditions. Cold Steels solution to these dilemmas was to design a line of synthetic polymer substitutes. Low in cost and unaffected by all but the most extreme temperatures, they are waterproof, weatherproof and astonishingly durable.

The Emerson “wave shaped opening feature” is a fast, effective, and impressive way to open your knife.
The patented Emerson “wave shaped feature,” a small wave-shaped tab on the top of the blade that’s built to catch on your pocket seam, opens the knife as you withdraw it from your pocket. This instant-open feature is a favorite among military, rescue, and law enforcement knife users.
But it does take a little practice.
Enter the Kershaw-Emerson E-Train, our “Emerson trainer” knife. The blade is unsharpened so you can safely practice using the “wave shaped opening feature” without endangering either your pocket or your fingers.
The E-Train’s G-10 front scale is in “safe-training blue” for easy identification. There’s a left/right reversible pocketclip so you can easily carry it with you to train whenever you have a spare moment.

Kabana Bokken Training Sword Polypropylene,Black 92BKKC

Cold Steel
Our improved Cold Steel Japanese Training Swords are closely modeled after the world-famous Warrior series swords. Featuring an intricately detailed imitation cord wrap grip – molded in high impact polypropylene – they offer superior grip and comfort as well as more realistic training potential for the modern Martial Artist. Hundreds of years ago, the Japanese discovered a simple truth; that to become a good swordsman you’ll have to practice, a great deal. To become a great swordsman you’ll have to practice with a “live blade”. And during the period between “good” and “great”, you should spend your time building your skills and confidence enough to wield a razor sharp Katana safely and effectively. To accomplish this, the Japanese relied on a simple wooden sword called a “bokken” for much of their training. It was made from the super tough wood of the Japanese White Oak, a wood they called Kashi. The swords produced from this wood had the advantage of replicating the size, weight and feel of a steel sword. Authentic Kashi wood Bokkens are still used today, but are becoming quite costly. They also have the disadvantages, being made of wood, that they may rot, crack split or splinter. Cold Steel’s solution to these dilemmas was to design a synthetic substitute, low in price and impervious to the elements. The Cold Steel Training Bokken is made of the heaviest grade polypropylene available and closely duplicate a real Katana or Bokken in length, size, weight and feel. While they’re not quite as rigid as wood, they have the advantages of being virtually unbreakable and remarkably stiff and cut resistant. Each model also features an intricately detailed imitation cord wrap grip, offering superior control even when wearing heavy gloves. Our Training Swords offer superior heavy-duty training potential for the modern Martial Artist.
