Here is Kit Carson’s M16® Every Day Carry (EDC) with our glass filled nylon InterFrame build. Our knife users told us, “We want an affordable work knife that we can give hard use without feeling guilty, and one that won’t break us up if we leave it on a job site or drop it in the river.”
We heard you. So we set about to make the Z EDC the best value in the work and sport knife world.
That starts with textured glass filled nylon scales and a dual stainless steel liner InterFrame. Assembled with glass filled nylon back spacers and Torx® fasteners, the result is amazingly rigid. Glass filled nylon offers excellent toughness and resistance to solvents. Lubrous washers at the blade pivot and an adjustable pivot screw allow for perfect blade action.
The blade is 8CR13MoV high-carbon stainless steel with a bead-blast finish, which gives an ideal combination of toughness and edge-holding ability in a work knife, and also allows easy field-sharpening.
The M16®-10Z features a dual hollow grind Tanto-style blade with Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edges similar to our “Big Dog” M16 models. The result is maximum blade strength and ability to saw through cord, webbing, nets or vegetation quickly.
Of course, if features the Carson Flipper, which speeds opening of the blade and acts as a blade guard when the blade is open.
This knife features automated liner safety. Automated liner safety is the locking liner safety innovation taken to the next level. The automated liner safety sets a pin between the locking liner and the frame. This pin acts as an additional layer of safety, so the locking liner is less likely to disengage during use.
To close the knife, pull the red buttoned safety lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position. Want one of the most secure safety systems on the market? The choice is automatic.

CPM-S30V Stainless Steel

AXIS Lock
A Benchmade original, AXIS has been turning heads and winning fans ever since its introduction. A 100 percent ambidextrous design, AXIS gets its function from a small, hardened steel bar that rides forward and back in a slot machined into both steel liners. The bar extends to both sides of the knife, spans the liners and is positioned over the rear of the blade. It engages a ramped tang portion of the knife blade when it is opened. Two omega style springs, one on each liner, give the locking bar its inertia to engage the knife tang. As a result, the tang is wedged solidly between a sizable stop pin and the AXIS bar itself.

The senior team member, Mel has been grinding sparks, making knives and creating a following for 25-plus years. His style has a class and simplicity all its own. Kershaw Fraxion 1160. This contemporary and stylish knife has been designed by Danish custom knife and toolmaker, Jens Anso. He has designed the handle to have G-10 scales and carbon fiber overlays. This is a fantastic way to enhance beauty and make this knife lightweight- a fraxion less than most knives this size. The black wash finish on this 2.75 inch blade will help keep everday scratches to a minimum. The steel is made with 8CR13MoV with a black-oxide BlackWash finish. This does open the good old manual style- KVT manual opening- but there is a small flipper on the back as well. The Fraxion will be one knife you can not be without. Pocket clip can be changed from left to right. Even though this knife is a manual folder, it opens just as fast as an assisted opener thanks to the flipper on the back of the handle. In fact one of our staff mistaken this knife for an assisted opener when unpacking it for the first time!
