To elevate that performance even further, this expression of it features a blade crafted from Böhler-Uddeholm, K390 MICROCLEAN®, a state of-the-art particle metallurgy tool steel formulated to withstand the rigors of the most demanding industrial applications. Full-flat ground from thick 4mm (0.157-inch) stock, the PlainEdge™ blade of this knife is supported by skeletonized stainless steel liners that form the foundation of its high-strength Compression Lock mechanism. The liners are nested within injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scales that feature a Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern for a secure, non-slip grip. Molded in the signature blue color of Spyderco’s elite family of K390 knives, the scales are also home to a broad-based four-position clip that supports all possible carry preferences.

Kershaw Fraxion 1160. This contemporary and stylish knife has been designed by Danish custom knife and toolmaker, Jens Anso. He has designed the handle to have G-10 scales and carbon fiber overlays. This is a fantastic way to enhance beauty and make this knife lightweight- a fraxion less than most knives this size. The black wash finish on this 2.75 inch blade will help keep everday scratches to a minimum. The steel is made with 8CR13MoV with a black-oxide BlackWash finish. This does open the good old manual style- KVT manual opening- but there is a small flipper on the back as well. The Fraxion will be one knife you can not be without. Pocket clip can be changed from left to right. Even though this knife is a manual folder, it opens just as fast as an assisted opener thanks to the flipper on the back of the handle. In fact one of our staff mistaken this knife for an assisted opener when unpacking it for the first time!

AXIS Lock
A Benchmade original, AXIS has been turning heads and winning fans ever since its introduction. A 100 percent ambidextrous design, AXIS gets its function from a small, hardened steel bar that rides forward and back in a slot machined into both steel liners. The bar extends to both sides of the knife, spans the liners and is positioned over the rear of the blade. It engages a ramped tang portion of the knife blade when it is opened. Two omega style springs, one on each liner, give the locking bar its inertia to engage the knife tang. As a result, the tang is wedged solidly between a sizable stop pin and the AXIS bar itself.

The senior team member, Mel has been grinding sparks, making knives and creating a following for 25-plus years. His style has a class and simplicity all its own. The Pardue collaborations offer great utility to the everyday knife user while at the same time presenting an upscale distinction. Less is definitely more with Mel’s designs.

This is one of the original Kershaw Blurs, the Blur that started it all.
This Kershaw Ken Onion Blur, Model 1670BLK, has a black Sandvik 14C28N DLC coated stainless steel 3 3/8 inch blade with a black anodized aluminum handle. The Speed-Safe torsion bar assisted opening allow this knife to be opened with one push. When closed this 4.2 oz. Kershaw knife is 4.5 inches long.
For easy one-handed opening, the Blur is equipped with SpeedSafe assisted opening. A short push on the thumb stud overcomes the resistance built into the torsion bar in the SpeedSafe mechanism. The SpeedSafe takes over and the blade moves out of the handle quickly and easily. One-handed opening is easy with SpeedSafe.
