It might look like Daniel Boone’s classic hunting folder, but it’s got an impressive secret.
The Homefront Hunter is among the first in CRKT’s fleet to feature “Field Strip” technology. This in-field, no-tool take apart capability lets you purge your most reliable companion of whatever mud, blood, or grit you may encounter right where you are, without having to step foot back in civilization.
The breakthrough “Field Strip” innovation comes from the shop of world-renowned knife craftsman Ken Onion. And has been over ten years in the making. To disassemble the Homefront when the knife is in the closed position, push the front release lever away from the blade. Then spin the turn release wheel on the rear of the handle away from the pivot shaft. Once you feel the handle release, pull it up and away from the blade. Reassembly is as easy as reversing the procedure, allowing for practical, quick maintenance where you stand.
From his shop in Kaneohe, HI, Ken Onion designed the tactically inspired, everyday carry Homefront knife to stay true to its vintage roots. The bayonet lug-style flipper sets off the smooth open action of the 3.5″ modified skinner blade, while tank jimping on the backstrap sits snugly against your palm.
It stands up to the looks of a WWI heirloom, and it sure as hell stands up to any job it encounters. The handles are made from glass reinforced nylon with a Real Tree XL camo finish and house an impressively beefy German 1.4116 stainless steel blade. Classic on the outside, impressively futuristic on the inside, the Homefront is about to change everything.

Benchmade

CPM-S30V Stainless Steel

AXIS Lock
A Benchmade original, AXIS has been turning heads and winning fans ever since its introduction. A 100 percent ambidextrous design, AXIS gets its function from a small, hardened steel bar that rides forward and back in a slot machined into both steel liners. The bar extends to both sides of the knife, spans the liners and is positioned over the rear of the blade. It engages a ramped tang portion of the knife blade when it is opened. Two omega style springs, one on each liner, give the locking bar its inertia to engage the knife tang. As a result, the tang is wedged solidly between a sizable stop pin and the AXIS bar itself.

The senior team member, Mel has been grinding sparks, making knives and creating a following for 25-plus years. His style has a class and simplicity all its own. The Pardue collaborations offer great utility to the everyday knife user while at the same time presenting an upscale distinction. Less is definitely more with Mel’s designs.

Kershaw Knives
This is one of the original Kershaw Blurs, the Blur that started it all.
Like all Blurs, it’s equipped with a big, slightly recurved blade that’s ideal for multitasking. The blade shape offers both excellent slicing and piercing capabilities and the high-performance Sandvik 14C28N stainless blade steel offers corrosion resistance and hardness. The black Blur has a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coated blade for extra corrosion resistance and enhanced looks.
This black Blur has, as you might expect, black handles with Trac-Tec grip-tape handle inserts for an extremely solid grip. The handle itself is durable 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, sometimes described as “aircraft aluminum” since it is a common material used for aircraft fittings. But the main point is that it’s lightweight, extremely durable, scratch resistant and extra tough.
For easy one-handed opening, the Blur is equipped with SpeedSafe assisted opening. A short push on the thumb stud overcomes the resistance built into the torsion bar in the SpeedSafe mechanism. The SpeedSafe takes over and the blade moves out of the handle quickly and easily. One-handed opening is easy with SpeedSafe. The pocket clip is reversible for your choice of tip-up or tip-down carry. There’s even a pre-drilled lanyard hole.

Kershaw Fraxion 1160. This contemporary and stylish knife has been designed by Danish custom knife and toolmaker, Jens Anso. He has designed the handle to have G-10 scales and carbon fiber overlays. This is a fantastic way to enhance beauty and make this knife lightweight- a fraxion less than most knives this size. The black wash finish on this 2.75 inch blade will help keep everday scratches to a minimum. The steel is made with 8CR13MoV with a black-oxide BlackWash finish. This does open the good old manual style- KVT manual opening- but there is a small flipper on the back as well. The Fraxion will be one knife you can not be without. Pocket clip can be changed from left to right. Even though this knife is a manual folder, it opens just as fast as an assisted opener thanks to the flipper on the back of the handle. In fact one of our staff mistaken this knife for an assisted opener when unpacking it for the first time!
