Gator – Clip Point, Serrated 46079. The Gator folding knives feature surgical stainless steel blades and patented handles that set them apart from the competition. Gerber revolutionized knife grip technology when it introduced the Gator in 1991, winning Blade Magazine’s Most Innovative Knife of the Year award. The Gator folders have handles made of a hard inner core of glass filled polypropylene, with Santoprene rubber molded and chemically bonded around it, essentially combining the two materials into one piece. This creates a handle that is soft and tacky when gripped, even when wet. This handle is lightweight, yet exceptionally durable. The clip point is excellent for hunting as well as general purpose tasks. The blade measures 3.5 inches to the end of the serrated edge to the tip and the rest of th .5 inch is from the black handle to the line after the serrated edge, just to clarify how the 3.75 inch blade is.

The handle is built of durable 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, which is sometimes described as “aircraft aluminum” since it is a common material used for aircraft fittings. It’s lightweight, extremely durable, and anodizes well so Kershaw can create colored handles that are scratch resistant and extra tough. Trac-Tec grip-tape inserts provide an extra-secure grip. The Blur’s inset liner lock ensures secure blade lock up during use.
For easy one-handed opening, the Blur is equipped with SpeedSafe® assisted opening. Just push on the built-in thumb stud. The reversible pocketclip lets you carry tip-up or tip-down comfortably.

The blade is made of Sandvik 14C28N stainless blade with DLC -Diamond-Like Carbon coating. Both the steel and coating help to prevent corrosion of the blade.
The handle is light weight and durable, made with 6061-T6 anodized aluminum and Trac-Tec grip-tape inserts to help secure your grip. Double studs to help open the blade. Black pocket clip can be changed from tip up to tip down. Lanyard hole on the end. There are variations to the color of the camouflages and this is done by the manufacturer- there is no choice in what is in the boxes. Some are darker green and some are more olive and some are more lighter green. Please appreciate the differences in the model that you receive, it is unique to each one made.

The blade shape offers both excellent slicing and piercing capabilities and the high-performance Sandvik 14C28N stainless blade steel offers corrosion resistance and hardness. The black Blur has a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coated blade for extra corrosion resistance and enhanced looks.
This black Blur has, as you might expect, black handles with Trac-Tec grip-tape handle inserts for an extremely solid grip. The handle itself is durable 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, sometimes described as “aircraft aluminum” since it is a common material used for aircraft fittings. But the main point is that it’s lightweight, extremely durable, scratch resistant and extra tough.
For easy one-handed opening, the Blur is equipped with SpeedSafe assisted opening. A short push on the thumb stud overcomes the resistance built into the torsion bar in the SpeedSafe mechanism. The SpeedSafe takes over and the blade moves out of the handle quickly and easily. One-handed opening is easy with SpeedSafe. The pocket clip is reversible for your choice of tip-up or tip-down carry. There’s even a pre-drilled lanyard hole.
