The Fenix ARB-L18-3400 is the latest addition to Fenix’s collection of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. This 18650 cell offers an impressive capacity of 3400mAh, which is ideally meant for use in high-drain devices, such as flashlights. The Fenix ARB-L18-3400 was designed with safety in mind. The powerful battery is equipped with a protection circuit that is built into the anode. The protection circuit is fitted with a steel hat so that the entire cell may be covered with a steel shell, thus eliminating any risk of short circuiting caused by impact or collision. The PCB circuit also prevents a user from overcharging or over-discharging the battery. In addition to the PCB circuit, the 18650 lithium-ion battery includes pressure relief vents, just in case a short circuit does occur. While rare, these vents provide a safe way to expel waste gas from inside, which will prevent the cell from inflating and from ultimately exploding.
