This culinary set includes six knives and a sharpener presented in a beautiful AAA grade figured maple display. Each blade is crafted from forged 67 layer damascus steel in our signature “lightning” pattern, tempered to an optimal hardness of HRC 59-60. The bolsters and pins are stainless steel, finished with a durable black G10 composite handle. The matching sharpener is diamond coated to allow quick touch up of your edges as needed. The patent pending display is built from solid American black walnut, with laminate inlays, hidden rare earth magnets, and anodized aluminum stabilizing feet. In only a short amount of time the Wüsthof Classic Ikon collection grew out to become one of Wüsthof’s most popular collections. Not surprising as these knives perfectly combine classic and modern elements. The Classic Ikon collection does not only stand out because of its design but also because of the wonderful ergonomic handle. The knives are perfectly balanced! As such they are amazing to use.
The Blade
Like with other Wüsthof collections the blade is made from X50CrMoV15 steel, which was sharpened according to the PEtec method, and polished by hand. This type of steel is also easy to sharpen.
Another advantage of this blade is the crop. It doesn’t extend all the way to the edge, but does separate the handle from the blade. As such you not only keep your fingers safe, you can also use the entire edge. Also great when you want to sharpen the knife.
The Handle
The handle is made from rock-solid POM. This is a shock, heat and acid proof material you can easily clean. Perfect for kitchen knives. The steel of the blade seamlessly merges with the handle. This is not only a rock-solid connection, it also provides great balance. Combined with the ergonomic shape this knife feels amazing in hand.

Like all Blurs, the 1670NBSWX is equipped with a big, slightly recurved blade that’s ideal for multitasking. The blade shape offers both excellent slicing and piercing capabilities. High-performance Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel provides the Blur’s blade with corrosion resistance and excellent edge-holding ability. The stonewashed blade finish gives the surface a desirable roughened or scuffed look that helps hide scratches and fingerprints.
The handle is built of durable 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, which is sometimes described as “aircraft aluminum” since it is a common material used for aircraft fittings. It’s lightweight, extremely durable, and anodizes well so Kershaw can create colored handles that are scratch resistant and extra tough. Trac-Tec grip-tape inserts provide an extra-secure grip. The Blur’s inset liner lock ensures secure blade lock up during use.
For easy one-handed opening, the Blur is equipped with SpeedSafe® assisted opening. Just push on the built-in Thumb Stud. The reversible pocket clip lets you carry tip-up or tip-down comfortably.

AXIS Lock
A Benchmade original, AXIS has been turning heads and winning fans ever since its introduction. A 100 percent ambidextrous design, AXIS gets its function from a small, hardened steel bar that rides forward and back in a slot machined into both steel liners. The bar extends to both sides of the knife, spans the liners and is positioned over the rear of the blade. It engages a ramped tang portion of the knife blade when it is opened. Two omega style springs, one on each liner, give the locking bar its inertia to engage the knife tang. As a result, the tang is wedged solidly between a sizable stop pin and the AXIS bar itself.

The senior team member, Mel has been grinding sparks, making knives and creating a following for 25-plus years. His style has a class and simplicity all its own. The Pardue collaborations offer great utility to the everyday knife user while at the same time presenting an upscale distinction. Less is definitely more with Mel’s designs.
