The Hanan designed by acclaimed custom knifemaker Brad Southard. It is a sleek, gentleman’s folder that combines a flipper-style opener with Spyderco’s Compression Lock™ mechanism. Meaning “gracious” or “gracious gift” in Hebrew, the Hanan features a slightly recurved full-flat-ground blade precision machined from CPM® S30V® particle metallurgy stainless steel. Although it includes a small Trademark Round Hole™ to identify its Spyderco lineage, it is purpose for flipper opening only.
The stonewash-finished blade is paired with an exquisitely crafted handle built with full titanium liners, titanium bolsters, and G-10 scales and backspacer. The bolsters and scales meet seamlessly at a sweeping arc and are precisely radiused to ensure a comfortable grip. They are supported by thick titanium liners, which are skeletonized to reduce weight and meticulously machined to form the foundation of the knife’s high-strength Compression Lock® mechanism. All titanium parts feature a handsome matte finish that matches that of the Hanan’s distinctive custom pocket clip, which mounts into recessed pockets in either scale to offer a choice of left or right-side tip-up carry.
A remarkably refined expression of the gentleman’s folder, the Hanan sets a new standard in compact, pocket-friendly cutting tools.
