The Kershaw Leek is a slim and compact pocket knife with an assisted opening, designed by Ken Onion.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Composite Blade Leek is…well, the Composite Blade. The wavy copper line along Kershaw’s Leek Composite Blade is the brazing that permanently joins a razor-sharp, durable D2 cutting edge to a Sandvik 14C28N spine.
On the edge is a high-carbon, high-chromium D2 steel. It capable of taking and holding an edge and the Sandvik 14C28N stainless-steel spine offers great strength, and corrosion resistance. On the spine is high-performance Sandvik 14C28N. With a Composite Blade, each type of steel allowed to do what it does best. The Composite Blade Leek shares its 3-inch blade, slim, easy-to-carry design, and versatility with other Leeks.
The modified drop-point blade shape makes it a good slicing knife. And the slim tip gives it excellent piercing and detail work capabilities. This Leek readily accessible with SpeedSafe assisted opening, providing quick and easy one-handed blade deployment.
A handle of pure stainless steel includes:
- a secure frame lock that secures the blade open during use,
- a Tip-Lock slider that locks the blade closed when folded.
The reversible pocketclip can be configured for right-sided tip-up or tip-down carry and the handle is drilled for lanyard attachment.

The Kershaw Leek just may be the ideal EDC. With its 3-inch blade, the Leek is a good-sized knife, but not too big. The slim design makes it easy to carry and its razor-sharp blade of high-performance Sandvik 14C28N means it can take care of a full range of cutting tasks.
The blade is a modified drop-point, so it’s a good slicing knife, while the slim tip gives it piercing capability and the ability to do detailed work. For a partially serrated blade, choose the 1660ST Leek. Like other “Onion” knives, the Leek features the SpeedSafe ambidextrous assisted opening system.
Whether you’re left-handed or right-handed, just pull back on the blade protrusion or push outward on the thumb stud and the Leek’s blade is ready to go to work. In addition to its 14C28N blade, this Leek features a handle of pure stainless steel that gives it a clean, sleek look. For confident blade use, a super-secure frame lock keeps the blade locked during use and a Tip-Lock slider locks the blade closed when folded. Kershaw Fraxion 1160. This contemporary and stylish knife has been designed by Danish custom knife and toolmaker, Jens Anso. He has designed the handle to have G-10 scales and carbon fiber overlays. This is a fantastic way to enhance beauty and make this knife lightweight- a fraxion less than most knives this size. The black wash finish on this 2.75 inch blade will help keep everday scratches to a minimum. The steel is made with 8CR13MoV with a black-oxide BlackWash finish. This does open the good old manual style- KVT manual opening- but there is a small flipper on the back as well. The Fraxion will be one knife you can not be without. Pocket clip can be changed from left to right. Even though this knife is a manual folder, it opens just as fast as an assisted opener thanks to the flipper on the back of the handle. In fact one of our staff mistaken this knife for an assisted opener when unpacking it for the first time!
