The DMT® Diafold® Flat File is purpose built for confined and/or narrow sharpening tasks. Only 1/16″ thick, the Flat File features a diamond surface on one side and tapers from the base at 3/4″ to 1/4″. This particular model is equipped with extra-coarse diamond (60 micron / 220 mesh) when significant removal of material is needed to repair a damaged edge. Also, like all Diafold® Flat Files, it is conveniently sized at 9 1/2″ open and 5″ closed. The folding plastic handles also protect file when not in use. Additionally, thanks to the micronized monocrystalline diamond surface, the Flat File hones in a fraction of the time required by conventional files. No messy oils are needed either, allowing you to sharpen dry or with water.
